RANCHO MIRAGE, CA – July 20, 2007 – A new lobby, enhanced guest rooms, an Internet marketplace and a sporty new lounge are among the first signs of the exciting transformation underway at Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa™. This classic desert resort in Rancho Mirage is undergoing a $35-million revitalization by KSL Resorts that will also bring signature dining, a new family pool with fun-filled water features, outdoor meeting space, and more. Finishing touches are expected by the end of 2007.
A welcoming new porte cochere heralds the changes within and leads into a
spacious new lobby. Here, warm-hued walls and elegant archways surround cozy
seating areas with handsome, carved-wood furnishings.
The resort’s newly upgraded guest rooms are elegantly furnished in early
California style with richly carved, dark woods, crown moldings and sumptuous
bedding, along with 42-inch plasma televisions. The rooms’ greatly enhanced
baths feature slab granite countertops and beautiful millwork cabinetry. A
select inventory of upgraded rooms is available now, with more coming online
every week, and completion slated for November.
The stylish new R Bar, which opened its doors in early July, exudes a classic
Rat Pack vibe enhanced by sleek leather seating, dark woods and a welcoming
bar. Three flat-screen TVs, a pool table and shuffleboard table add to the
sporty sophistication of this handsome space, destined to become a Rancho
Mirage “hot spot.”
The recently unveiled Palms Café is the resort’s Internet café. Serving
Starbucks coffee, the café also offers brick-oven pizzas and light fare for
breakfast, lunch and dinner, while several computer stations allow guests to
stay in touch with office and home.
Also open is Las Palmas Boutique, with its exceptional selection of resort
wear and fashion accessories in the most popular name brands, from Tommy
Bahamas to Brighton.
The Splash Bar and Grill is being freshened up for an August reopening and
will once again serve refreshing treats and casual dining poolside.
Still to Come: Signature Restaurant, Exciting Water Play and Outdoor Event
Space Some of the most compelling developments for Rancho Las Palmas will
occur this fall, with the unveiling of a new signature restaurant by the
Puccini Group. The renowned designers are also responsible for the highly
acclaimed BlueFire Grill at KSL Resorts’ La Costa Resort and Spa.
In addition, the resort’s popular family pool will reopen with an exciting new
water feature. Offering fun for all ages, it will include a 425-foot lazy
river surrounding an island with two 100-foot water slides, a Jacuzzi, and
other aquatic delights.
